You are glad you left Egypt at last on your way to the promised land and what happens?
You look back and you’re greeted with an armada of Pharaoh’s army in hot pursuit and the Red Sea in front of you.
Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.
The blessing and the breaking go hand in hand.
God is still in control.
This donkey had a misfortune of falling into a dry disused well.
The owner tried to rescue it but got fed up when his attempts yielded no fruit.
He decided that the donkey was old anyway and the well was a nuisance so he would bury the donkey and call it quits.
He asked his family and neighbours to help him close the well and bury the donkey.
They all took shovels and started throwing dirt on the donkey.
The donkey was horrified and wailed in disbelief asking for a reprieve but it was ignored.
There was silence and the owner thought it was dead.
Looking into the well later he saw what stunned him. With each dirt that they threw on the donkey, it simply shook it off and step up.
And so the donkey continued to shake off the dirty and step up until it came out of the well and strutted off happily ever after.
The donkey got a testimony through its demise and test- a blessing from the breaking.
It is not what happens to you that matters but how you handle what happens to you.
When the breaking comes, don’t despair, it will birth a blessing in the fulness of time.
